julzcary
Hi, I've been looked at the Queensland Regional Sponsored visa and can't seem to gather from the web sites, which are the regions that you are required to live/work in. Can anyone shed any light for me please? Does it include the Gold Coast? Also, if you are granted the Skilled REgional Sponsored Visa, does this entitle you to buy a house over there? Thanks for any help. Julie
Guest WARDStoOZ
Hi, regional in QLD is normally classed as any area not run by Brisbane or Gold Coast city councils, you normally can buy houses on the visa I believe if it's temporary and definately if it's permanent. hope that helps! julzcary
Thanks for that. Some of the post codes didn't work on the Australian Post website, so does anyone have a definitive list of the places that are on the eligible list? Also, do you need to live AND work in the regional areas? If so, if the Council offices were in Nerang (which they are), presumably that would be OK? peeka
You need to live in the regional area for two years and work in one of the regional areas for 1 year (not necessarily the same region though). If you look on www.immi.gov.au you will be able to find the list of regions classed as regional.
