Diabetes Type 1 Insulin Dependant

Hi,

 

Was just wondering if there was anyone out there who has diabetes type 1 (insulin Dependant) had there visa approved or refused recently? Please respond if you have or know anybody who has.

yes, somebody asked the same question in 1 of the seminars, the answer was "the government will look upon any medical condition in a finacial way, ie if the diabeties is non insulin dependant then its almost irrelevent, but because of the cost factor of supplying and administering the insulin then it would be an issue". But they would not give a specific answer as each case is different.

I don't know anything about diabetes but if you search on this site and on British Expats, I have seen LOADS of threads about it in the past. It doesn't appear to prevent people from passing the meds. I guess it might if it is causing really serious complications in some other way, but it doesn't normally seem to cause major hassle with the meds. The MOC would probably ask for an up to date report from the person's specialist (just because the MOC keeps half the specialists in the world in business by demanding unnecessary reports)but I wouldn't really expect much more than that.
