Sellling house - has anyone managed to do it?

Finally after what seems like an age we complete our house sale on Friday 20th May

So pleased I can't really put it into words so

:jiggy::jiggy::jiggy::jiggy::jiggy:

Will finally be able to tie up all lose ends in the UK

We didn't get what we wanted for the house £30,000 less in fact but no mortgage so that did make it easier.

So no more point crying about it (it's only money)

We just can't picture ourselves any more sitting in our UK owned house with money in bank against sitting here in Australia in a rented house with a few $'s in bank.

For us it was a no brainer...

I'd rather die happy than die rich (both would be nice but money aint that important) We have good pensions for our retirement what more do you want???

Seeing our happy smiling kids every day makes it all well worth it

Good luck to everyone else that's trying to sell

Just dont buy in oz just yet watch the marklet free fall then pounce you will off set your lose.

Not planning on buying any time soon we want to see how the housing market goes first.

Just applied to extend our lease here fingers crossed we'll be fine for a few more years here as we love it.

Strange how things turn out sometimes, put the bungalow back on the market at the begining of April & after a couple of fruitless views and just when you think that it will be on the market forever, last Monday had viewers, they made us an offer there & then, we exepted. Over the moon, got cash buyers, just returned home from Spain, want to be in a.s.a.p, have also got our rented sorted for 3 months while we tie up all our loose ends here, selling cars, sorting out flights for the dogs ect, has just worked out right.

So for those of you who haven't sold yet don't give up hope, one day it will happen for you.:hug:

hi we got our visas 2 weeks ago, so wanted a quick sale we went with a estate agent that was platered on all the websites rightmove zoopla findaproperty and put it at a price that said offers in excess of that means nothing under that thank you. if you want to go quick dont over price it if anything look at prices that houses have sold for in the last few weeks for not what they are up at. we sold ousr in a day still early days yet but fingers cross anything can happen.

Good advice, I think that freefall is already in progress!

This new glut can only mean one thing, vendors are beginning now to meet the market and preparing to sell for true value instead of speculative value (wishing price). Of course they need to lower their prices and the feedback mechanism this causes will work like the boom in reverse. Prospective buyers will put off buying because they know prices are going down and this will make prices go down even more because vendors need to constant lower their prices to meet the market on the way down. Many desperate vendors will put their properties on the rental market, frantically trying to sell and rent them out at the same time, and vacancy rates will surge.

Over the next couple of years expect to see inventory and vacancy rates surge as prices collapse 20, 30, up to 40 or 50% in most parts of the country. It's only then most people will recognise the shortage MYTH for what it was, a fairy tale, nothing more than hot air generated by industry spruikers in a vain attempt to blow new life into a dying bubble by trying justify further unsustainable increases in already exorbitant real estate prices.

Personally I think house prices have a long way to fall. We've had rampant house price inflation for the past few decades. A correction seems likely.
