LYNMACMD Posted January 14, 2009 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Wonder if anyone can answer me this one, my OH has his job but over here in the UK I own a shop and I am wondering about starting up again in OZ what is the situation of bringing my stock into the country? Guest proud2beaussie Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 This could be quite a complicated matter,depending on how the business is structured,if you were to import the goods into Australia for the purposes of selling them then you would probably need an Australian Business Number,Register the business in the state in which you intend to run it,possibly register for goods and services tax etc.You may also have to pay both export duty in the Uk and import duty in Australia. Its a very complex area.
