Hi,

we arrive in Melbourne on 27th December, have 2 nights booked in a hotel so can find somewhere to live ..i hope.

We are looking for a min 3 bed in a quiet location. just us as a married couple but our 2 children age 12 will visit throughout the year.

Looking for a long lease of 1 year

Money will be tight for the first month then we start getting paid and will be quite well off so need something nice (wife going to be working from home) but with a smallish bond or agreement. I will be working in CBD dont mind a small to medium commute.

any ideas?

If you want shortish commute look at Richmond, South Yarra, Prahran, South Melbourne, Port Melbourne, Williamstown, Ascot Vale, Carlton, East St Kilda, Brighton, Elwood

There are lots of Apartments in St Kilda Road, South Bank, Docklands and the city itself.

Good luck, Also look on Domain.com.au

Hi Lorna and Clint

You really need to look for a furnished short term rental for a minimum of 4 weeks, although there are a lot of long term rentals showing on places like realestate most only hold an Open for Inspection/viewing once a week and this is when you get a lot of other people tunring up for the same property. The rental market is very tight in Melbourne at the minute!! Once you have your short term rental this will give you time to look around for your 12 month rental.

Also as you are coming over at Christmas you are probably going to struggle getting a short term rental even the caravan sites are booked up, remember it isn't just Christmas Holidays in Melbourne but also Summer holidays to.

Most of our proeprties are booked up, and we have nothing available in the CBD itself, the only property we have available is in Seaford and the owners are advertising that at $490 per week for a 2 bed. Take a look on our site for accommodation available: Moving to Melbourne: Accommodation Available in Melbourne We also have a map on there so you can see how far the rentals are from the CBD etc.

You can also look at www.stayz.com or www.rentalsinoz.com

Good luck with your move.

Kate
