Guest JoanneHattersley
oh hell, is there no chance of you getting another employer? surely if they ended the contract there must be something you can do?
Guest tincan
Thanks Johats maybe, but not sure what we want to do. Feel a little like running home to the kids, but love this place so much. The problem is my visa is sponsored by the employer so we would (i think) need to go back to a holiday type visa until we found a new job.

Quoll
You would submit a tax return here and would get some back I should think. As temporary residents leaving the country, if you have paid any superannuation contributions you would be entitled to ask for them back as well. Quoll
Gosh that will be a substantial amount - I'd suggest going to an independent financial advisor (you can claim his fees back when you do your tax return!) to make sure that you dont get stung! Alan Collett
You are certainly at liberty to lodge a Tax Return. Whether that will generate a tax repayment will be contingent on your total assessable income and the tax already paid. Feel able to contact me via PM, email, or on the telephone (03 9935 2929 - Melbourne) if you would like assistance preparing and lodging it. Best regards.
