How long can you live/work in Australia on a sponsored visa.? Can you get medicare/claim child benefits.? Can our children attend school if parents are on a sponsored visa.? Thanks Hi Claire We're applying for a 176 state sponsored visa (Eammon is also a carpenter) and have been granted state sponsorship with Western Australia The 176 state sponsored is a Permanant Residency visa in the same way as the 175 - the only difference is you have an obligation to work and live in the state that sponsors you for the first 2 years and you take part in a settlement survey every 6 months for a period of 2 years. Are you thinking about a State Nominated subclass 176 visa or an Employer Sponsored visa, please? If the latter, which one?
