The problem we have is we only reach 110 points and that would include doing the IELTS test. Then i saw that fashion designer is on a the regional state sponsorship list for SA. But when i look for design jobs in SA, cant find one. But around Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney there are loads. So I guess the same might also apply for fashion designer. I just went on jobs sites and searched. Good luck! I think the only option for us is to find a employer to sponsor us, however this is really difficult to find especially in the current climate and the roles offered are usually very senior positions and within a big firm as smaller companies don't have the budget to do this. If you do manage to find a sponsor and work there for 1 year you can then apply for a permanent visa as it will give you the extra 10 points that you need I know a couple of agencies that you may use already who has fashion vacancies overseas including Australia, but can you tell me what you specialise in first as I wouldn’t want to give you the information if we are going to apply for the same job. (Sorry for being a Bit@h but I’m desperate to live in Australia too!) What is a regional state sponsorship list? Good Luck in your search and I'm sorry I can't help you more! My partner has an uncle over in OZ, we don't really know him but has said he will sponsor us. And the great thing is for family sponsor you only need 100 points. I work on menswear, but when i've been looking for jobs in OZ, i mainly saw ladies wear positions, so hopefully you work on ladies and will be able to find plenty of work. I might have to blag i can do ladies lol. A regional state sponsorship, is when a state sponsors you, don't quote me but i think you only need 100 points. Your job would need to be on their list, the only state i could find design on was Adelaide, but i couldn't find one design job there.
