Guest lozzer
Hi We are seriously considering moving to Oz - my 13 yr old daugther underwent 2 major ops last year for scoliosis curve correction. She is fully recovered fit & well now & it was done purely for cosmetic purposes. does anyone out there know if this will effect our application? Having spoken to her consultant after her final check up in March she no longer has to attend anymore out patient appointments.
ali
If you obtain a letter from your consultant or copies of letters sent to your GP, stating that no further treatment is needed and that the prognosis is good it shouldn't be a problem. The covering info we received from the panel doctor explaiend what we needed to take along to the medical such as these letters. Ali
Guest Nicki Kefford
Hi, glad to hear that your daughter is now fit and well. It was a relief to read your mail as we too are hoping to go to OZ and have just discovered that out 10 year old daughter also has scoliosis and are waiting for the decision about whether the consultant will do the op yet or not. We have only just had our visa app acknowledged so have not yet informed our agent until we know about the prognosis or not - a difficult catch 22 situation. However, her health is priority and would love to have any info regarding this problem and with regards to your visa application. Have you had to have your medicals yet and if so, what have they said about your daughter? Hope she is recovering well. Nicki x
Guest Missiemo
Hi Nikki Try not to worry, our daughter was seriously ill from the age of two, and was on multiple triple therpy medication for two years. When it came to having our medicals we just obtained a letter explaining her illness from our family doctor, and a letter stating she would not require any more treatment, we had no problems with the medicals and no other questions were asked. Good Luck Mo
Guest Nicki Kefford
Thanx for the reply Mo. Hope your daughter is ok now. Can't help but wonder about your comment on the bottom of your post? Is life out there not what you expected? Surely with all the problems in the UK, OZ has to be a better place to bring up children and have a better future?
