calNgary
Hiya you will struggle renting from the uk for a few reasons ,,firstly all rental property must have an inspection off yourselves before you move in and you have to fill out a rental application form as renting a property goes on points similar to your visa ,this too was a Big problem we had we were just lucky enough to have a distant friend offer to put us up ,we spoke about this the other night and agreed we would probably be back in the uk if we had had to live in a hotel room with our 2 kids for a few week ,is there anyone here who could help? have you thought of a caravan or chalet as youd have abit more space? Guest hantsfamily1
Hi, Try looking on http://www.domain.co.au and clicking on stayz in the top right hand corner of the opening page. There are fully furnished houses and flats for rent at better rates than hotels and fully kitted out with everything you should need. Even dvd players, kitchen equipment etc. Best of luck, Mick
Guest ALVA
Hi There, we are in the same position as you guys, we wanted to rent somewhere to go to when we get off plane but first we have to decide where to get off at !! Our original thought was Brisbane, but now we are wondering if the weather will be too hot or if the mozzies are a problem in that area compared to Melbourne etc.
Guest dwaldron
Try http://www.rent-a-home.com.au/default.asp which seems to have a good range of furnished accommodation, you could arrange a place for a month or two and then do some proper searching once you're settled. Guest familyfriendlyhomes.com.a
Hi Cath1974. We own furnished houses in Brisbane and there are other landlords like us that rent their homes on a short term basis. If you are looking at another city you might like to search on http://www.google.com.au About 90% of our guests are UK migrants, they tell us that it is really easy to find a furnished home for rent over there - definitely not the case here. In Brisbane we are now running at less than a 1% vacancy rate, which means that it is extremely difficult to get a nice rental home - let alone a furnished one. Don't let that put you off coming to Brisbane, we are experiencing a boom at the moment because all you guys want to come and live here! Our culture is very much the same as yours, your children fit in at school, employers want you to work for them etc. Our guests are often concerned about being able to find a job, please don't be frightened! We have such a low unemployment rate in Brisbane, if you make it through the Australian Visa process, you will most likely have a job in the first week or so. You are already short listed in the workplace because you have been checked by the Australian Government! All the best, Karen.
