Perthpops
Hi all, Our daughter has been a bit slow talking and although we can understand her now and she does well at pre school, we’re worried she might be referred at medicals. Is there anything we can do before hand to take with us? Has anyone done this and prevented delays? She’s very shy which makes it worse if she doesn’t know somebody. We were thinking of asking pre school for a letter maybe or a private speech therapist? Any info please. Thanks
Quoll
If you've got assessments of Receptive and Expressive language then, yes, take them along. It is quite possible they will ask for them anyway because I am sure you will declare speech/language delays if asked. Speech pathologist reports are going to be more objective than preschool reports.
