Simontucks Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Hi all! Firstly sorry,as this has probably been asked before.we are coming out in April and are just wondering if we take our washing machine, dryer, fridge freezer with us.they are pretty battered and old so was thinking of buying new to put in our container due to prices being lots more in Australia apparently. Any information would be a great help thanks Quote

Any information would be a great help thanks Take a peek at appliancesonline.com.au and thegoodguys.com.au for some ideas. You can get a decent fridge freezer for $800 or so and a good washer dryer for under a grand. Which is actually a bit less than I paid for similar grade white goods back in 2016 when we arrived. 2 Quote
rammygirl Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Depends if you are bringing a container and they will fit in without extra space. Tbh I would bring them if you have space, they will be useful in a rental then buy new when you move somewhere more permanent (fridge space can vary a lot). A second fridge in the shed/garage is often useful anyway. If you buy in the UK the guarantees will most likely not transfer and you will need adapters or change the plugs. White goods are not more expensive here unless you don’t bother to shop around. Oh and if buying several items at once ask for a discount or at the very least free delivery/install. I can heartily recommend appliances online, they deliver the next day unpack, take old goods and all packaging and are still very good value. 3 Quote
Simontucks Posted January 21, 2024 Author Posted January 21, 2024 Well,I think we are going to chance it and buy new when we get there.cheaper in the UK but probably need them before container arrives and also the warranty would be pointless Quote
