Brunswick91
Hi, I recently completed an EOI for VIC 190-I live in NSW and just realised that the criteria states you have to have an offer of employment in VIC when applying for 190 there. Is this the case? Obviously I won't be applying for a job there until I know we have been invited to apply for PR.
Marisawright
I'm no expert but someone posted recently that if you have connections to another state, then you must have a job offer in place. The reason is that Victoria doesn't want people applying for Victoria just to get a visa, with the intention of high-tailing it to another state as soon as they're able. Unfortunately it's become a common occurrence so you can't really blame them. It does make it tough because I can't imagine many employers being willing to hold a job open while you get the visa sorted out.
paulhand
Yes, it is clearly noted on their main landing page: "Offer of employment You will need to provide evidence of a genuine Victorian job offer if you are currently living in another Australian state" What visa are you currently on and does it allow you to move jobs? Brunswick91
Ok thanks just a shame because we actually lived in Melbourne for 18 months and it would be our preference long term to go back there . I already transferred to NSW with my job so I’d have to find a new job if going back which wouldn’t be a problem but nowhere will keep an offer open until your PR comes through given it can take months.. guess I’ll just have to stick with NSW
