bukieran
Hi , We are flying into Perth in 2 weeks time from Birmingham to commence our new life. Do we have to have medical insurance before we arrive for ourself and kids ? Who is best ? Who is cheapest ? Have looked at iSelect but you may have advice to offer having been through it ... What do people do for car insurance ? I imagine AA family travel insurance will cover us for a few days car hire...but what do people do to get up and going quickly thereafter...? Thanks for all help received.... Kieran
Stuju
Hi Kieran, You dont have to have the insurance to fly over but it may be best too just in case one of you fall poorly or have an incident when you get here in the early days. Someplaces offer a 3months insurance (bit like a holiday type package) do a bit of googling and see what good deals you can get All the best for your new life in Perth stuju

Kieran Once you buy your car there are plenty of companies who offer Car insurance, remember to bring proof of your No claim bonus as some companies may need to sight this to give you the same discount over here, not all of them, but it's always handy to bring anyway. And bring your AA membership card too as you can join a club over here and they usually waive the joining fee. Are you coming over on a PR Visa, it may be worthwhile to see if you can join up in the medicare system when you arrive here, this gives you free treatment in the hospitals and some Dr's don't charge for a consultation if they 'Bulk Bill', some will though and then you have to claim some of it back from Medicare. If you want Private Health Insurance you can sort that too when you get here. Hope this helps

Guest Gowalkabout
When travelling over its best to take up travel insurance as you would be covered for cancellation from the date you take the policy up. Also, under the terms of our policy we will cover your for 21 days upon arrival which gives you peace of mind while you dot the I's and cross the T's. For example you are covered for baggae giving you time to arrange contents insurance. You can contact Go Walkabout on 0845 3450327 to receive more information about our 'One Way' Emigration policy.
