wrussell
Over the years I have had clients lodge perfectly good applications to be informed 5 or 6 years later that they had been 'capped and ceased' and would be taken never to have lodged a visa. For more search 'cap and cease'

LauraHol89
I feel your pain!!! We returned home from aus after our 457 visa ended last year (oh why oh why didn't we apply for residency whilst still in oz?!) ... We got married in Nov, and are still sharing with my parents because I don't wana buy a house because... well what's the point when we plan on leaving again (and refuse to rent cos tgats just throwing money away) ... but also wanting babies cos we are almost 30, but again, holding off till we are back in oz. Currently have 2x EOIs lodged (in march) and waiting for invite on either. We literally have our life on hold whilst we wait to get back out there. But with the way it's going (We have 65pts) god knows when we will get an invite. So at what point do we decide to stop waiting so we can get on with life. So very much know where you're coming from. It's tough! We just wana go back and start life!
Jonno1981
Currently in limbo here. I believe my migration agent has submitted an expression of interest on a subclass 190 a couple of months ago, but South Australia has filled the quota for my occupation and special conditions apply (I.e. 90 points minimum, I have 70 including sponsorship). So, we have to wait until 1st July and hope that my occupation is still on the list and sponsored by South Australia. Neither are guaranteed. We just have to suck it up and get on with life the best way we can until a decision is made one way or another. Easier said than done!
