sammy11480
Hey guys I’m a UK teacher looking to apply for 489. Which ielts do I need to take? Would it be the academic or the general training? I’m not a student and will be working as a teacher. Please help [emoji4] many thanks
Richard Gregan
If you have undergone at least 4 years of university education in one of the AITSL approved countries, then you don't need IELTS for skills, but you may need it for the visa application as you'll want the points, as well as to meet state requirements. In this case, it's the General IELTS test you would need. Regards, Richard

dannycox1
In my honest opinion I would go for the PTE academic (Pearsons) test instead of the IELTS. i failed the IELTS marginally twice but passed the PTE first time with the highest possible mark. IELTS seems outdated with no margin for error in the test Danny
Richard Gregan
Yes, some people do certainly report a better experience - and outcome - with PTE. Regards, Richard
