Hi. Me and my girlfriend are beginning the process of emigrating to Melbourne late 2019/early 2020. I work as a mechanic and was wondering what was the most quick and efficient way of shipping my tools over was. Any info would be a huge help. Thanks.

It was 10 years ago when we shipped hubbys tools but we used Crown relo and they were sent in a shared container. It took 8 weeks from A to B and we had no issues at all. I cant remember the cost sorry.

They had to be as clean of oil and grease as possible ,so he put what he could (spanners, sockets etc) through a hot engine wash and packed everything into smaller new or very clean tool boxes. Each tool box had to be able to be picked up and carried by 2 men, even if it had wheels. If the box locked you had to tape a key to the top for easy access if they wanted to check at Customs.

Hope this helps a bit

Who ever you use make sure you have decent insurance for them, mine arrived last week with some items missing although they were in a single occupancy container and locked  and sealed when they left my last home. Now seeing how good the insurance is or how they get out of paying.
