I want to apply for medicare card but the insurance company told me that i most maintain private helath insurance as i am in 485 psw visa. Anyone in this situation? Please let me know if it is okey to get medicare card now or wait until visa decision? Many thanks Ā I think you can go for Medicare ASAP. I am in visitor plus cover( paying around 40$per wk). If i can keep both then i will chamge my insurance type to budget visitor cover( cost around 18$pw).
