Again depends where you are in Tasmania! Certain areas appear to have NBN in Devonport https://www.finder.com.au/nbn-tracker/sa/7DER.... Telstra wifi, Optus etc are available. Research and see what works well in your area! Most companies tell you that theirs is the best but it also depends on even your street in so many cases. We are on NBN and for us it works exceptionally well but internet packages are more costly than the UK! Skani
It will depend very much on your exact location. (For example, I live only 6 kms from the Hobart GPO but have never been able to access even basic ADSL. Have just - in the last month - gained the option of being connected to the fibre optic National Broadband Network). Once you know your address you can get some idea of your options at this site: https://www.whistleout.com.au/Broadband I'd then talk to locals about their real experiences. The Australian Consumers Association does a yearly survey of customer satisfaction with internet companies. Their latest survey (in July 2017) produced Internode, iinet, iPrimus, Optus and TPG (in that order) as all performing above average. Bound4Tassie
Thanks both for the info/links. Looks like Port Sorell is in brown in the map. NBN coming soon. Hopefully that means like in the next 6 months! Not years!
