pm79
Hi all I'm confused whether I should apply for 457 first and then apply for 189 or should I apply directly for 189. I want to get things done as quickly as possible so I was thinking of 1st option. But my friends said that it usually does not take very long for 189 also. I have got 75 points for 189. So how long should I expect for 189 from visa EOI till grant? Also is it quicker to go through an immigration agent? My application is quite straightforward. VERYSTORMY
Including the skills assessment, I would allow at least 9 months. To obtain a 457, you would need an employer. There are risks of going through the employer route

There are risks of going through the employer route Hi Thanks for the reply. I already have an employer and they are happy to sponsor my 457. Doesn't the wait period depend on points? More points mean sooner? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

calNgary
Why rush and get a temporary visa? If you qualify for a skilled visa you would be way better and much more secure when here, applying for that ,even if it does take a little longer.
