Wooba
If memory serves me correctly it's minimum 3 years AFTER obtaining your license.

Marisawright
The other thing to research is, will you be able to work as soon as you arrive, or will you have to do more certificates or work as an assistant for a while? Just because Immigration accepts UK trade qualifications doesn't mean they qualify you to work in Australia, there are sometimes extra certificates that you have to get after you arrive. I don't know how it works for electricians but I have a suspicion that you may have to work as an assistant at lower rates for a year to get your full licence. Gene
Thinking of doing a electricians course and you get level 3 city & guilds would this be enough or would I have to do a nvq. Any help and advice would be awesome.
Petals
Look in the jobs and careers section of the forum. There is an electricians thread which is pinned at the top. This thread will give you a lot of useful information.
