gsingh91
Hi, I am planning for Australia migration under visa section 189/190. I have done 3 years diploma in computer science and having 8 years of experience in IT. Requirements are meeting under 262113 - Systems Administrator (ACT). I am not sure whether my education will be ICT Major/Minor and how much experience will be counted. Can anyone help me and clear the doubts. regards Gurpreet~
citation560XL
You would need get a skills assesment done to know if your study/experience would be accepted. For 262113 it would be ACS I believe.
gsingh91
Thanks for replying !! yes Correct it will be ACS. So there is no other way apart from skill assessment to know about it ?
CiderDrinkingCoder
Only the ACS assessment will be able to confirm your qualifications' AQF equivalence.
gsingh91
And one more thing, can i apply 189 and 190 simultaneously or only 1 at a time. As far i have read, priority is given to the more points applicants so rather than waiting for long if i only score 60 , better to apply for both ? CiderDrinkingCoder
You can have multiple EOIs lodged concurrently, yes.

gsingh91
Found below info while browsing the skill assessment guide lines. Any idea where we can found ICT content to review my diploma ICT Major Criteria: A Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate degree must have at least 50% ICT content. A Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree with ICT content less than 50% is assessed as a Non-ICT qualification. A Bachelor degree must have: • 33% ICT content for a 3 year course • 25% ICT content for a 4 year course • 20% ICT content for a 5 year course
CiderDrinkingCoder
I would suggest contacting the registry of your university for a full transcript and syllabus. Regardless, only the ACS can determine whether or not your qualification meets AQF equivalence.

To determine whether a qualification is classified as ICT Major/Minor requires a careful analysis of the qualification transcripts and potentially the specific country education profile. The specific employment episodes need to be reviewed to determine relevance to the nominated occupation, etc.

CiderDrinkingCoder
Pleasure, mate. Gave me a great chuckle to start the day off with. Always nice to meet folk who are willing to have a giggle at their own slip ups. Cheers
