rahulpatel1969
Hi I am on a 496 visa and want to convert to a PR applying for a 887 visa. My question is I have been working around 60 hours every two weeks and have totally worked more than 1 year required during my two year stay. My question is would it be okay if I have worked less than full time but more than the one year requirement over the two year period of my stay here to migrate to PR. My hours would definitely cross 2000 hours during the two year stay.
MaggieMay24
You need to have 52 weeks of at least 35 hours each week to be eligible. The 52 weeks don't have to be consecutive, so if they add up over 2 years that's fine.
rahulpatel1969
Well I am paid on a fortnightly basis and that means I sometime get 5 days one week and 2 days the next and this does not reflect in the pay slips only the total hours. How will they consider that as I usually have more than 60 hours per two weeks.?
MaggieMay24
If they ask you to produce a schedule of your hours worked, or ask your employer to confirm how many hours you worked each week, you'd better be able to prove you had 52 weeks of at least 35 hours. Your fortnightly schedule won't be enough, it needs to be 52 weeks.

rahulpatel1969
My son who was dependent at the time we migrated has a full time job and he meets 52 week criteria. Can he become the main applicant and can me and my wife be sponsored by him?

Can he become the main applicant and can me and my wife be sponsored by him? No, because you and your wife don't meet the criteria of a dependent (cannot be married or de facto).
