Gemble29
Hello, can anyone clarify if there is or is not an existing visa that allows someone from the UK to be sponsored by a grandparent who is a citizen in Australia? Thank you in advance. Gemma
VERYSTORMY
The only family sponsorship visa is the 489. However, this has certain conditions on the sponsor including on where they live and the applicant mjst also be able to pass the normal system for a permanent skilled visa with the extra condition that the occupation is on the SOL list as the CSOL is not sufficient for a 489. In effect, it means that is just gives some extra points for an applicant who would otherwise qualify for a 189. What is your occupation?
Tickled Pink
Not a visa in the sense I think you are asking about. As VS says, there is a visa whereby an appropriate relative who is living in an identified regional area can add points to an application. However, other criteria would have to be met also - e.g. occupation on the SOL etc.
