Dalt
Hi I know the maximum duration is supposed to be 4 years, but if I were undertaking study there and that ran over does anyone know if you can extend that 4 years for another 12 months at the end. I am planning on working and doing my PhD over there when we move but the length of time that will take is 5 years not 4. We're being sponsored by work on a 457. Isabelj28
You can apply for another 457, which would make it 8 years. It's not guaranteed though. Also, I'd be a little wary of commencing a PhD on a 457, because it's a temporary visa and if the co. Is no longer able to sponsor you, unless you find another sponsor, you have to go home, regardless of your PhD studies. Also, you have to work full time, so not sure how you would fit in studies for a PhD, it's pretty intense!
VERYSTORMY
I assume you are also aware that you will not be resident for purposes of education but regarded as an international student.
