Indianinoz
We're landing in Sydney on a PR(189 visa) on 4th December. Before we land, I'd like to apply for the following from India itself: 1) Tax File No.(TFN) for me and my wife 2) Medicare card for me and my wife 3) Railway card(Is it called Opal?) for Sydney How can I do so? Guest
You wait till you get to Aus and then apply. Its all easy enough to do when you arrive. TFN and Medicare are both things you have to do once here. A public transport card you just buy in a PO, newsagent or whichever local store sells them. Or at the station. And then top up when you need to.

You better open a bank account before you arrive so you could pick up the card once you land.

You are not eligible for Medicare until you arrive so you should apply after arrival. You cannot get a TFN until you arrive. Do it online, takes a few minutes.
