Dee
We are getting prices for shipping a container 20' back. We have been quoted from $8200-$9400. What is the experience of others here? Do these prices sound about right? Anyone know of a better price and company shipping the container from Sydney?
Huggy75
Ours was about $9,100 in total, Brisbane to Leeds. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend the company as they gave me big headaches after I'd left Australia - lack of communication, trying to change the goalposts and charge us more money etc.

Total 8600, good communication from Operator here in UK, great Packup in Adelaide, 4-5 days delay at Dover (HMRC), professional and good unpacking service (they put beds and kids bunk beds together) by UK arm of firm, not sure if I'm allowed to say who, but Lizzie wears a thing on her head that sounds like the name of the company. People are always welcome to swap PM's to pass on the not so good feedback

Dee
Thx everyone. Deryans your quote is 1k less than I got from the same company but good to know that you had a great experience. We do worry that they will suddenly find new charges at the other end like Huggy did. This happened to us when we moved here years ago from the UK. The agent here said that they could not release the container until we gave another thousand to the UK shipper for "currency fluctuations" We said prove that the currency changed value and the next day our container arrived unannounced at the front door! Makes us really nervous.
Superscally
If you don't have anywhere near a full container, what are your options and how much would that cost?
