Bexx
Hello, so I have a de facto visa PR skilled independent 189. But after moving to Australia after a few months my partner and I separated as he wanted to go back to the UK and I wanted to stay. I am the second applicant on the visa and am really worried I am going to get asked to leave. Q1. Will I get asked to leave? Q2. Do I need to inform immigration? Q3. If I don't need to inform immigration will this affect my citizenship application? Please help....
movingback
If you entered on a 189 visa you're fine. No need to do anything else. Your partner leaving has no effect on your residency status, visa, or citizenship requirements. Its the best visa to get!
Bungo
No there is nothing to worry about. You are not on a defacto visa (AKA a partner visa), you have your own permanent visa.
itegoa
As others have said, you have your own visa. You're free to get any job you wish. And it will not affect any future citizenship application.
CaptainC
I will second....third and fourth the other posts! You have residency in your own right. Stay.... and even gain citizenship when you're eligible, if you so desire.
MaggieMay24
1. No 2. No 3. No As the others have said, you have your own 189 visa now, and the end of your de facto relationship has no bearing on your immigration status.
