Bringing Car back - in container with household or separate?

Hi

Just back in UK and looks like we are moving back here for work reasons

Looking at bringing our car back with us (owned more than 6 months so tax free) - the sums add up but just wondering if best to ship it separately with a car shipping specialist as found a great site who seem to handle the whole thing plus they had a shipping calculator on their website which told me straight away how much to get our beetle tested registered etc so seems too easy! Or do we put it in a 40ft with our household items and ship back with our removals firm - worry there is then the UK side gets a bit more expensive, will car get damaged, will insurance be easy to claim on a car as the specialists have zero excess on the car if any damage happens....

Arrrgggghh!! Help!!!

Cars aren't cheap in the UK, I've been here three months now and I'm just not seeing it.

I also might add that when I left Melbourne the used car market had dropped. Really hard to shift a car, no one wants to pay. Especially as your having to sell private as your leaving.

Used cars are really cheap back in uk!

Depends what you want and want to spend. We lived in the countryside in UK and needed a decent four wheel drive, also we had got used to an SUV in Australia and wanted one for that reason too. Not at all cheap, unless you get quite an old one (which we didn't want).

We would have happily stuck with out seven year old Mazda CX-7, wish we had thought about shipping it now. It sold for a pittance in Australia and we spent fortune on new car (new to us I mean, but it was second hand). Would definitely have made more sense to ship.

To OP question, the specialist shipper looks like a no brainer to me.
