Could someone please give advice,

my husband is qualified Joiner-level 3 Joiner-Uk

based on points I think he has only 55points. But there is a 5point option to choose state nomination- If we do the expression of Interest and only apply for Queensland does that give us extra 5points=total 60points?

also just to clarify the 10 points for 'An award or qualification recognised by the assessing authority in the assessment of the skilled occupation'

We are doing the skills test & technical interview with 'Victoria university' to get recognised in Australia- is this the 10points for this?

HIS points= 55points

25-32 years = 30points

In skilled employment for at least eight and up to 10 years (of the past 10 years) 15 points

An award or qualification recognised by the assessing authority in the assessment of the skilled occupation 10points

Points are awarded on the basis of the factors listed in the following table. All factors are assessed as they are at the time you are invited to apply for this visa.

It's very much simpler to do IELTS or PTE and get either proficient or competent English and that will gain you 10 points or 20 Points respectively, then you'll have more than enough points to qualify.

Yes, the skills assessment to be recognised in Australia is the 10 points you asked about.

If in any doubt about points (which can be a very complicated subject with some applicants) I would always advise to seek the assistance of a MARA registered agent as over claiming points can be grounds for a visa refusal. That being said, a lot of people apply without an agent with success so as long as you are confident to go it alone then i'll just say to take care.

So @CaptainC on the EOI under education, as a uk carpenter with a successful skills assesment by Vetassess and I have been given an AQF III do I choose AQF III as qualification or do I choose the option of qualification or other award as assessed by the assesing authority?
