Hi everyone,

Wasn't sure if this would help others starting this journey. A few months ago I wasn't sure where to begin! :laugh:I have just sent my documents away to be assessed to AITLS as a Secondary Teacher. I needed the following documents:

- Degree Certificate - 4 years

- Degree Transcript

- PGCE Certificate

- PGCE Transcript

- Letter from Strathclyde University verifying my PGCE was over 45 days of 'supervised' teaching experience

- Statement of employment from current HT on letter headed paper

- p60s for past 10 years (didn't have them all so needed a statement of earnings)

- statement of earnings from local authority on letter headed paper

- Copy of marriage certificate

I copied all of these and had them stamped and signed by a local lawyer and then sent them off. Now it is a waiting game

 I also kept a copy for myself as well as the originals. Also a wee question... does anyone know what a positive assessment should say and are there categories?

Have a read through the other teaching posts in the jobs and careers section and you may find your answer. As each State is different it will depend where you are going. We are like America we have State governments and separate everything.

The requirements are 4 years Higher Education. So a degree and a Msc would cover that. BEd is a teacher training course presumably with 45 days of school experience, so that's covered. Providing you can provide transcripts and certificates for all this and AITSL agree you could apply for PR visas. AITSL are very strict on what they want to see from transcripts and certificates and aren't flexible so make sure you read their instructions and guidelines very carefully!
