The main hold up for us was my husband having to be approved by APHRA, prior to applying to APHRA he had an interview with RACS in Melbourne that was Oct '15. Once they were happy with his qualifications and experience, he applied to APHRA mid November ( it took about 2 weeks for all his paperwork to arrive in OZ). Once he had approval from them he applied for visa on Dec 7th, we received Visas on Jan 26th and he starts work on May 2nd, leaving here on April 27th. Hope that helps.

Hi, How long did it take for your employer nomination? were they an approved sponsor? Our MA lodged everything all at once 5th Feb 2016, Sponsor, nomination and visa - still waiting although it's early days, only 2 weeks in but trying to forget about it, but its a huge deal for us, fingers crossed!!

I'm coming from the UK and originally accepted the offer of employment on 15th Dec 2015.There was a bit of a delay initially as they weren't sure under what job title the nomination should be submitted - the role could be classified as Marketing or Specialist Manager. Anyway I was approved as a specialist manager but was given a minimum of 3 months wait time and a full skills assessment. In the end they resubmitted the nomination as a marketing role and it was approved within a few days. They were already an approved sponsor. I was told to wait until the nomination was approved before completing my visa application on line. So far its been 'Assessment in Progress' for 6 long days. I need to work on my patience...

so sharing a bit of good news, visa has just been granted today. Timeline below

Nomination and Visa application lodged 27th January 2016 (using a MA)

Granted: 24th February 2016

(No additional information request)

From Low risk country: UK

Company is a global player in the business and already an approved sponsor

no health exams requirement - just health insurance presented

Skill level 1 - Graduate with masters degree

Heading to NSW/ACT region

Now I can stop checking emails every minute of the day like a mad man :). All the best to all that are still waiting, most applications do go through on time contrary to some posts I've seen.

I am UK like TL1. Mine hasn't come back yet but was submitted a few days after TL1's and my details are all the same so fingers crossed it's in the next week or so.

Same here. Submitted at the same time, same cicumstances...so just waiting for the e-mail.

Very surprised at how quick TL1's came back - that is great news considering the backlog of applications and shortage of personnel.

Just checking...did you request priority processing?

New user here:

Nomination and visa application lodged February 8th through a MA vendor provided by Company

Low risk country (USA)

Being sponsored, nominated by the same Company I work for in the States. Company is already an approved Sponsor (people I currently work with in US go over to Sydney on 457s quite frequently). Last coworker (who just returned to US) had the process take a total of 3-4 weeks last year (and she was required to go for health exam for personal reasons)

No health examination required for me, just travel insurance.

Hopefully my timeline is quick, as I am supposed to be in the office April 1, and would like a little time to find a place.

Tons of helpful info here, so thanks to everyone who has posted thus far (I think I've read all 95 pages haha)

I just realised I got confused by the whole thing and mine was submitted 31st December, I read it as him being submitted on the 27th of December.. whoops.

I am very surprised too now, that is insane compared to an extra month for myself.. My MA said it would be about 8 weeks from lodgement when I asked 4 weeks ago
