  1. So many factors affecting the processing times at the moment and your circumstances, number of applicants etc. can all determine whether you receive a grant quickly. I think between 5 and 8 months is good going at the moment. I’ve just had my grant it took 7 months. If you used an approved agent who has told you it’s decision ready you might be lucky. The gov website is saying 8-11 months (it was 5-8 when we applied). Good luck ?
  2. Yay ? Grant received this morning!! Application lodged 27 August 2017 (220 days ago!) Further information requested 27 September- complete silence until this morning. So relieved, I start my new job on Wednesday. Good luck to all those waiting x
  3. I applied onshore for a 190. It’s painfully slow though, be prepared for a wait. Good luck.
  4. Hi I’m in Australia currently on a 457, awaiting PR 190 (submitted August 2017). I’ve potentially found a great permanent role with an organisation willing to take over the sponsorship of my 457. Has anyone recently transferred their 457 to a new employer that can give me an idea of timelines or a good migration agent who has done this? I want to manage the new employer expectations honestly. Thanks
  5. Thanks Raul - Thats good information. The issue of travel is a biggy for us as my daughter needs to fly back to fulfill visitation rights for her father...and I travel for work. We've no trips planned until June but can't guarantee the PR will be finalised by then. Its such a shame as the processing times were so much quicker when we submitted our application. I appreciate your help.
  6. Hi I ceased employment with my 457 Employer Sponsor almost 90 days ago, unfortunately I just found out that they didn't fulfill their obligation to inform the Dept.of Home Affairs (I did tell them). This has meant that I missed out on a job. Anyway, we're awaiting the outcome of a PR application submitted last August and I wondered if anyone had experience of applying for a BVE. My migration agent says I could request online to cancel my 457 but I'm not sure what the process is if I do and could we apply for a bridging visa? I'd rather not be unlawful for any amount of time and I haven't worked for a while now so I don't want my husband to lose his work rights - but I'd definitely like to get back to work! I don't know if we should risk cancelling the 457 or just wait for the PR to be granted? Any and all advice welcome.
  7. Unfortunately they’re just a refresh of the previous assessment categories. They don’t mean anything other than you’ve submitted any additional information the CO might have requested.
  8. Hi I’ve had a 190 application in since August 17, with CO contact and further information request (and provided) in September. Our status has just changed to ‘Further Assessment’ in progress!- is this just a refresh of the status categories? Thanks
  9. For the police checks - they get sent to you (so you can scan and upload as with other documents). I’m afraid I don’t know the answer to your other question, maybe start a new topic/thread on the main board to see if anyone has had a similar experience? Good luck and congratulations on your wedding.
  10. 28 August 2017. We are onshore (457 visa) and applied ‘decision ready’ with all background checks, health, police etc.
  11. Hi If your application has now exceeded the processing timeline you can contact the DIBP directly to get an update. Good luck!
  12. Hi - yes they've had the 1229 since we applied in August as well as our legal care agreement that she will spend a minimum of 8 weeks in the UK each year over 2 or 3 trips until her 18th Birthday. They also had one previously when we arrived initially for my 457 application. He said it was a quick conversation and that the person that called him said they would update the file and report back that everything was in order. Our file has been under assessment since September when we provided the additional documents they requested (my decree nisi/confirmation of divorce) and have heard absolutely nothing at all until yesterday. I know that timelines and order of checks is dependent upon individual case officers - I had just started to get on with my life and have this off my mind (a bit) and I guess now its back to anxious waiting and second guessing every 'sign' until its granted! I will try to be chill :-)
  13. The visa office just called my child’s father to check he’d given permission for residency. We’re on good terms so this was fine, does anyone have experience of this? I’m pleased it’s a sign they’re actually processing our application now?! Fingers crossed this means we’ll get our grant soon.
  14. Massive Congratulations to you. I’ve had some bubbles in the fridge for 5 months - can it be me next?!? ? Welcome to Australia, you’re going to love it here.
  15. Hi, I’m in the same boat except we’re in QLD. The 457 makes no difference to how quickly a new application is processed unfortunately. My 190 was submitted in August, final docs uploaded by request from CO within 24hours. My application has been decision ready/under assessment since September. It’s been a long wait! Good luck ?
  16. Yes we have a moral obligation to remain anywhere within the State of Queensland for 2 years. Our application went in in August 2017.
  17. I’ve got a 190 in for QLD? The visa process is almost the same as for the 189. Making sure you can provide at least 2 forms of proof for each employed position you’ve had will save time along the line.
  18. Hi, they say that most applications are processed within 8-11 months, this is after you submit a complete visa application which you can only do after you’ve received the state nomination. I think our nomination/invite took just a few days to turn around but that was back in July last year.
  19. Hi, waiting time for 190 is currently 8-11 months. Some people get lucky and get them more quickly but it’s best to plan for the long haul. We are applying from onshore with 80 points we’ve been waiting since August 17. Good luck with your application.
  20. It’s difficult to tell, but people seem pretty keen to share their good news when it comes. As the DIBP continue to extend their processing times (its gone from 3 to 11 months since I applied) my guess is that unfortunately not many grants are being awarded at the moment. The Christmas holidays will slow things down for sure.
  21. As of 21 Dec 2017 DIBP updated their processing times, I’m waiting on a 190 which has now increased to 8 - 11 months. My question is, what is the point of them publishing average processing times when it can change so dramatically during the application process? When we started it was 3 months, we cannot contact our case officer within the published processing times so it’s completely useless information especially if they keep increasing the amount of time they have. Even though we applied at a time when we might expect a faster turnaround no one will talk to us now until 11 months has passed. I don’t know of anything else where you pay upfront and they have the right to continually change expectations of service. I am so frustrated by this whole process. Sorry for the rant ?
