itegoa
Hi, Just going through the document checklist for the 189 visa application. It states: For each of your dependent applicants who are aged 18 years or older at the time of application must provide evidence of Functional English. My partner (defacto, we're not married) was born a British citizen, and has a UK passport. (So do I). Is showing her UK passport enough to prove Functional English? Showing this would prove her to have Competent English, according to this page: http://www.immi.gov.au/FAQs/Pages/how-can-i-prove-i-have-competent-english.aspx How did other people get on in this situation? MaggieMay24
You simply need to submit her passport. I'm Canadian and that was sufficient evidence of competent English for my visa.
itegoa
Thanks all. Was starting to have nightmares thinking we'd have to dig out old GCSE paperwork!
