Adelaide to Brisbane

Hi i currently live in Adelaide and have been here for 5 years.

I have a daughter who is 2 and a half.

My husband and i were thinking of moving to Brisbane early next year.

I was wondering if this was the right move to make.

Does anybody have any pro's or con's to Adelaide and Brisbane?

Thank you in advance

Hi Thank you.

It's work. I live Southern suburb and finding it really hard to find a job.

Also, we have family up there and hopefully can help with baby sitting etc.

We just feel at a stand still here at the moment. A little bit bored.

p.s We are originally from Leeds too.

Well having family nearby certainly helps with the settling-in part, and work opportunities would be greater in Brisbane / SEQ area. I have worked in Adelaide a few times and was tempted once to get a transfer with work. We liked Adelaide very much but I also saw the limitations of living and working there compared with Brisbane area.

We have been here 15yrs now and no regrets. I was born and bred at the Headingly end of Burley/Kirkstall area, my wife Linda comes from the West Country, where we lived for 12 years prior to Oz.

The biggest export from SA is people. There is a good reason for that...

As I have always said, "Sarf Australia is only there to keep Vic and WA apart..."

Cheers, Bobj.

Tell me about it, I went to school there!
