Zeebeth
Hey, We went to the "Down Under Live" expo yesterday and got chatting to one of the guys from DIAC about Form 80 and how often it is needed. He said its only needed in certain more complex cases and to not fill it in unless requested to by the case officer, as not only will it cause more work for us, it will cause the case officer more work! So yay one less thing to do now! Zee
Alaska
It's true it's not always asked for but it's worth preparing "just in case" otherwise you could find your application held up for a fair while whilst you try and get it ready. It really does take a bit of time!
CaptainR
That's interesting, many of us that wanted a quick and immediate grant front loaded a lot of extra documents such as the form 80 to prevent delays. I have a feeling that we would have had to fill one out anyway, but then we both have travelled extensively and were more unusual applicants. tina0101
We didn't need form 80, but I had looked at it and made sure that we could answer all the questions with no hassles. Better to be prepared, just in case!
Zeebeth
We've looked at what's needed too, but now won't be filling it out or uploading unless we get asked, don't want to make the case officer spend longer on our application than needed- if they are having a tough week I reckon it could be the difference between getting a grant that week or the next! Quinkla
to not fill it in unless requested to by the case officer, as not only will it cause more work for us, it will cause the case officer more work! The importance of this should not be underestimated. Public servants like paperwork that is complete, in order, but just enough to get over the line. Extra forms; reams of documentation; long letters and personal statements will just create extra work for the public servant. But when they get an easy case, their hearts will fill with joy and be inclined to deal with it as quickly as possible - within the constraints that their managers have set, of course.
