Hi All

new to the forum, I'm 25 and a plasterer originally from Bolton. I'm currently in my second yeah working holiday visa and I'm going for my PR. So really need any advice from anyone who's been in the same situation. I'm currently getting my police clearance and need to start gathering information to prove I've been plastering here for 12months, would references be ok for this or would I need payslips etc.

any my help,or advice on any of the visa process would be much appreciated.

Thanks poms

Regarding the process you should be focussing on skills assessment, not police checks, they can wait until right at the end. Have you started skills assessment yet? For work experience evidence, yes you will need to prove you were paid, your tax return will do.

I'm just at the start of the process now. What does the skills assessment intail? Ive been told the solid plastering assessment is all proof and no site visit. Thanks i apprciate the advice.

Sorry I am not a plasterer but perhaps one will be along shortly. Have you been to the TRA website and had a read about skills website? I doubt that anything you have done will suffice, skills assessments are very specific things.

The skills assessment can take many months to get everything you need. Proof of training, proof of employment- in enough detail etc. forget police checks for now (they only last a year) and concentrate on your skills assessment.

What type of evidence needs to be given do you know?
