Camerilla
Hello, I read that when you apply for a WHV you have to give prove that you have enough money. I'm just wondering how this works? As when you send your application, you've a full year to enter the country, so in a year, there can happen a lot with your money, no...? Anyone who can give me some more information about that... would be much appreciated! (I'm from Belgium) Regards, Camerilla
Uprawr
Hi Camerilla, they dont ask for proof during your visa application. The only time they may check is at customs when you enter australia. Its best to have a recent bank statement or something to as proof of funds.
tingtongman
I don't think anyone has ever been asked. But at the airport they may ask you if you get stopped. if you dont have whats needed, you can always get a credit card or two!

Britpop
Budget £1000/ month at first to live and do a few activities (excluding buyin a car etc) then once you're working and have a house share, aren't eating out, shopping on a budget etc it will go down. Uprawr
People seem to agree that the recommended $5000 dollars is about right, but of course the more the better. You just need that buffer to keep to ticking over till you find a job, but the people who go out there with just £1000 must find a job within a few weeks or they're screwed, personally i wouldn't take that risk.
