ClaireWesti
Hi there guys, Just wondering if my 15 yr old son can work part time whilst we are here in Vic on a 457 visa? I can't seem to find any info on this, thanks

Dorset
There used to be a really useful page on the immigration site that said all this, but I can't find it. Here is one from the trades unions. http://www.actu.org.au/Images/Dynamic/attachments/6638/457_Factsheet_Workers_Rights_in_Australia_310712_v2.pdf Our sons got jobs when we were on a 457, but you may need to argue the case with some employers who are nervous of employing anyone they shouldn't. calNgary
TBH The employer probably wont even ask, we didnt come on a 457 but my son is 15 and has 2 jobs. 1 is a school based apprentiship ,the other as a sports coach, neither asked about his residency status. Suzukiscottie
No problems; 14 years and 9 months in Victoria. Even slightly younger if the employer gets a special permit.
