Without realising it we stumbled upon 'Shrove Football' The shops are all barricaded off for 2 days and the town participates in a game if football lasting 8 Hrs :shocked: there are very few rules and the goal posts are 3 MILES APART :arghh: it is also very hilly See here http://metro.co.uk/2014/03/04/pictures-ashbourne-royal-shrovetide-football-2014-4411550/ The only rules we could find are that you can't commit murder or manslaughter and you can't hide the ball in a bag and run with it.
