Racheyleigh
Hi everyone, just wanted to say Hi and thanks for all the great informative posts that everyone puts on here. My other half and I are planning a 10-12 month working holiday for early next year and couldn't be more excited! The plan was to buy a hi top campervan from travellers autobarn and use that as a base for moving around the county. I've seen some very mixed reviews on the company, anyone had any first hand experience? X
Guest
Hello and welcome to the forum. I can't comment on the company you mention but hopefully others can. Depending on what you plan to do it might be better to find something privately that you can sell once you leave. Smart thing then would be to end up in a popular city for the last couple of months to give yourselves time to sell it and not need it those last weeks iykwim. Or advertise it well in advance and specify you'll be selling it at this date etc. Look into rego though. Not sure but I thought you had to register anew in each state which may cost/and or be a time consuming headache.
tingtongman
camper vans are quite expensive here for some reason. I would suggest starting in a big city like Sydney and to look on gum tree daily, as people will be selling their camper vans quite cheap as they have to leave the country. You will get much better value that way I think.
Racheyleigh
Thank you, yeah we're going to start in Sydney as I have family there so we can stay and shop around for a camper
