Advise please 60 or 65 points EOI for 190 visa

Hi, for a 190 visa by how much would our chances of invitation increase by having 65 points against the min requirement of 60? Or as you are state sponsored do points not make a huge difference to timescales/selection?

 

Occupation is Conference and Event organiser

 

Please help, we about to submit but not sure if worth claiming more points for unverified Vetasess employment.

It is better to under claim of going for 190, you will get invitation regardless of having 60 or 65 points. 190 invitations are not ranked - if gain state nomination you are invited. Better not risk your application and visa application fee, for extra 5 points that you dont actually need.

Brilliant! That's just what i wanted to hear.

 

Just to double check on qualification front, even tho' my occupation (UK BA degree) is not assessed as highly relevant i can still claim points for it right?

Have you obtained state sponsorship yet? Going to be a tough ask as it only appears on the WA schedule 2 list or the ACT 'limited' list. I would suggest researching the criteria for those two processes.

 

You're generally fine to claim 15 points for a UK bachelor degree, relevant or not.

Too right, we going with ACT and it's a bit of an effort but fairly straight forward and well documented what is required of you. Commitment statement done, now to find 5 relevant vacancies...
