talemu Posted January 31, 2014 Share Posted January 31, 2014 Hi guys, Is DIBP accepting a paid full time (37.5hrs/week) research assistant experience in a university as a valid experience to claim points? I have the following experiences - 1yr + 8 months Junior Electrical Engineer in a Telecom operator - 1 year research assistant at university - 4 months paid full time trainee at a multinational telecom vendor My masters is being assessed by Engineers Australia. Also the first two experiences are before my masters, I have a related engineering before my masters. Please advise me, if these experiences could give me 5 points? Thanks in advance. dewi Posted February 1, 2014 Share Posted February 1, 2014 Hi, You can go to this website (if you're applying for independent GSM) http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/189.aspx and download the booklet. In my case, only employment undertaken AFTER the completion of necessary qualification can be considered as skilled employment.
