Guest Guest66881
Legislation to tackle alcohol-fuelled violence, including a controversial law for deadly one-punch assaults, has been passed by the New South Wales Parliament. The Lower House approved the bill at lunchtime yesterday and the Upper House voted in favour shortly before 7pm (AEDT). Among the initiatives are mandatory eight-year prison terms for anyone who fatally punches someone while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. http://au.news.yahoo.com/nsw/a/21169459/one-punch-alcohol-laws-passed-by-nsw-parliament/
northshorepom
 Silly knee-jerk legislation Never yet seen a law passed in haste that has ended well. You always get unintended consequences
Quinkla
Never yet seen a law passed in haste that has ended well. You always get unintended consequences I believe the law textbooks tend to hold up the UK's dangerous dogs legislation as the classic example. Nikey
Did they get round to changing it so that testing for the pure breed was no longer required? I believe the law textbooks tend to hold up the UK's dangerous dogs legislation as the classic example.
Guest
I doubt it will change anything People will still react, will still lash out and still harm others.
