pomsoutofoz
Hi, I have canadian PR. However I am also citizen in my country of birth. If I apply for visa 189/190 and I become PR in australia, will I be able to keep both PRs together with my citizenship?
Rupert
It depends on the rules of the countries involved.... your question is impossible to answer.
oppyddrum
i believe you can be a PR of as many countries as you like, except when otherwise stated, which in the case of Australia and Canada, it is not.
Quinkla
Australia (now) allows you to hold multiple citizenships. But some other countries insist that you give up all other citizenships when you take their citizenship or insist that you renounce their citizenship if you take citizenship elsewhere. Generally, multiple citizenships are more acceptable now than they used to be with countries such as the US now allowing dual nationality with "acceptable" countries. Permanent residence is usually associated with a visa (even in countries where it is not described as such) and maintaining the visa - or the travel validity of the visa - usually requires you to spend a certain portion of your time in the country of which you are a permanent resident.
