Hello

I am in the process of applying for the above visa and trying to find out some specific details. I am an ICU nurse in the UK looking for work in Sydney. If i am successful gaining a position in a hospital or critical care agency and they sponsor me does the hospital/agency pay all the costs incurred for the sponsorship visa? Also is there a specific amount of money you need in your bank account prior to applying?

Hi Paulo

Some hospitals pay your visa application fee, some won't. It's more likely that they won't in Sydney. However, most hospitals will help you by paying for a Migration Agent to handle your application on your behalf. This can save a lot of time.

I don't believe you have to have a specific amount of money in your bank account before (or after) you apply.

If I were you, I'd start by getting in touch with medical recruitment companies in Sydney.

Is there a specific reason you're choosing to go for a temporary visa over a Permanent one? 457 is well-known for its disadvantages. In your position with a skill in demand it would make sense to take the Permanent option straight away- have a look at http://www.gov.au./skills/skillselect

You would need to ask the sponsoring employer what they are paying and what you will need to pay.

Paul, have a look on the Ramsay website. Good company I have worked for them in the UK.
