Paying school fees on 457 in NSW

It is usually paid before you are allowed to enrol. You have to get an 'Authority to Enrol Application Form' and fill in the student/parent details. You then have to take the form to the school that you are in the catchment for and ask the principal to complete a section (you also take passports, proof of visa etc). You then have to send this off to the NSW Education Dept with the payment, and they then send your 'Authority to Enrol Certificate' which allows you to enrol with the school. I think in certain special circumstances (eg you have more than one child at school) they do allow you to pay in instalments, but I think this is granted on a case by case basis.

Hi there

I've been offered a job (in NSW) where the employer is sorting out my 457 visa.

As I've read above, I/we need to pay for our children to attend primary school, however, does anyone know how much this is?

Also, I read somewhere that the government were talking about making $4k for the 1st child only as of 2015 possibly going down to $2k (or something like that).

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

G
