mpatel1972
Hi all, I've been reading various immigration to australia forums and websites, and seem to have confused myself. There are 2 occupation lists, SOL and CSOL. In order to get the state nomination (190), which list should my occupation be on CSOL or SOL? The below statement is taken from SOL description from the immi.gov.au website which has raised my confusion. The SOL list is for skilled independant (189). The current Skilled Occupation List (SOL) applies to Independent (not nominated by State or Territory Governments) Points based skilled migration and Family Sponsored applications. Would appreciate some clarification on this. Thanks in advance
deeacz
Which state do you want Sponsorship from? Go onto their separate site and see what they will sponsor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
mpatel1972
I'm looking to WA for sponsorship. They do not have my occupation listed. However, my occupation is listed in the SOL and CSOL list.
deeacz
I've got WA sponsorship but this is because my job is on WA list. If your job isn't you don't need state sponsorship you can go for a visa without having to do the state sponsorship? Or do you need the sponsorship for more points ? deeacz
Having said that WA are literally about to change and update their occupations so keep an eye on their website , the latest news tab on the left click there and it will tell when they update it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
mpatel1972
Unfortunately I have 55 points and need state sponsorship. I'm now relying on the WA update list.
deeacz
How about getting a higher result in IELTS? That would gain you 5 points? What did you get? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
deeacz
Are any other states offering sponsorship for your profession? You have to stay working in the state for 2 years then can move? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
mpatel1972
I've sat the test couple of times and not getting the 8 in Reading, other subjects 8 to 9. There are other states that can sponsor me but means having to live there for 2 years. WA is the preferred choice as family is there. Might have to consider another state. deeacz
Writing is where I kept falling down! I'd say wait for the new list and you may find your occupation becomes available again, can you not get a visa through your family? Alnaibii
Family sponsored visa is not a PR visa, probably that's why. And for 489 the occupation need to be on SOL, I've heard.
