Dorkymum Posted September 17, 2013 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Hello everyone! Am new to the forum - have just posted a wee intro in the Welcome section. Arrived in Hobart from the UK a week ago. Am looking for advice about mobile phones. We are going to be living in Hobart for the next 4/5 years. Likely to travel around Tassie for weekends, but not too fussed about coverage then. Have friends in Perth & Melbourne, so would like coverage when we visit them. And would love a company that offer a good bundle for calls to UK. Are Telstra really the best option? They have already driven me half crazy trying to get a landline and broadband set up, so if there are others that have decent coverage here I would love to hear about them! Thanks in advance. We have Optus phones and whilst coverage was fine in Hobart and Launceston, it was very flaky elsewhere and non-existent once you got off the beaten track. runslikeafish Posted September 19, 2013 Share Posted September 19, 2013 If you're not worried about coverage outside of "Greater Hobart" or "Greater Launceston" then Yes Optus or Vodaphone will do nicely. A couple of friends use both with no problems. If you do want coverage outside of built up areas then sadly Telstra is the way to go in my opinion.
