obie81
I know there are a lot of questions about the 457 visa however if someone could help me I'd much appreciate it. My employers will be applying for my visa from Australia I've sent them all the information and application forms etc which they have said they will deal with. If the visa is applied for onshore (even though I'm in the UK) would this mean I could travel to Australia whilst the the visa decision is being made? Thanks
Rupert
It is best to wait for your visa to be granted, it might be refused and then you would have had a wasted trip for example. There is also no visa designed to allow you to travel to Australia to wait for the 457.
sami
I'm no expert, but you need a visa to enter Australia, we also came on a 457 and we had to wait for it, ours was quick, about 1 month. From our experience and from other's bad experiences with a 457 visa, I wouldn't do anything until the visa was stamped in the passport...even then, nothing is secure. obie81
I thought so. I have to go to Brisbane before the 8th October to complete my AHPRA registration and they're being quite difficult about extending that for me. The last thing I need is to have to apply for AHPRA again.
